Instant Pot Glyphosate-Free Hummus

Instant Pot, Glyphosate-Free, Hummus

This Thanksgiving we discovered a recipe that we want to share with YOU! Being made from our organic, non-GMO, locally-sourced, glyphosate-free garbanzo beans and taking just under an hour to prepare, this no-soak, homemade hummus is worth your while. 😊

Recipe Ingredients:

– 1 cup of our glyphosate-free garbanzo beans

– 4 cups water

– 12 (give or take) tablespoons minced garlic

– 2 bay leaves

– 1/2 onion

– 2.5 tsp ground cumin

– 1 tbs paprika

– 1 tsp salt

– 1/4 cup lemon juice

– 1 cup tahini

– 1 tsp olive oil

Rinse garbanzo beans and pour into Instant Pot along with 4 cups of water, garlic, bay leaves, and onion. Place the lid on the Instant Pot making sure the valve is set to sealing position. Do 35 minutes of high pressure with a natural release of pressure. This will take about 20 minutes after cooking for pressure to naturally release. Once done remove the lid, and reserve 1/2 cup of the liquid. Remove bay leaves and then place the drained garbanzo beans, onions, and garlic in a food processor. Add in a bit of the liquid you reserved. Add in spices of choice! This recipe called for cumin, paprika, salt, lemon juice, and tahini. Slowly add in more of the liquid as you mix, along with a little olive oil. When the mixture is a creamy consistency pour into a bowl, top with salt and/or garlic, and enjoy!

This simple, nutrient-dense recipe is perfect if you’re looking for a delicious dish to pass at a party, or to just delight in at home.

Using one cup of garbanzo beans from our 1.5lb bag, which is roughly 1/3 of the bag, we made this heroically big bowl of hummus. The hummus will store in the fridge for up to a week… if it stays around that long! With our 48 0z bag of garbanzo beans you can make up to 6-7 batches of hummus.
