“The Lord has blessed us with our property and through His guidance we want to bless others.” The Pekruls
Imagine the fulfillment of raising your own clean, forest-raised pork even if you don’t have land of your own. The Piggy Program offers a unique opportunity to grow your own pork while gaining hands-on experience in sustainable farming practices and understanding where your food really comes from.
What Is the Piggy Program?
The Piggy Program offers Project FarmSTAND Members a chance to purchase a heritage breed feeder pig and raise it right here on our farm.
This isn’t just about buying meat.
It’s about partnering with us in a hands-on experience that combines community farming opportunities, education, and fellowship.
Here’s how the program works:
- You purchase your feeder pig for $75, a heritage breed known for its superior flavor and quality.
- You raise your pig on our regenerative farm, a trusted local pork program that emphasizes clean pork raising. Your pig will live a natural life, enjoying access to forest forage and non-GMO feed for about 10 months.
- During that time, you’ll pay a share of the monthly feed costs, typically ranging from $40 to $80 per pig, depending on the season and the total number of pigs being raised.
- In addition to caring for your pig, you’ll participate in monthly workdays, contributing 10-16 hours per month alongside other members, helping with pig care and various farm projects.
- When your pig reaches about one year old, you will cover the cost of $150/pig for your pig’s harvest and transportation. Our pigs are harvested on-site through a low-stress, God-honoring process conducted by Jason Brake owner of Northern Path Meatworks. This approach minimizes stress for the animals and ensures the highest quality pork for your family.
- After harvest, your pork is transported to the butcher for processing. Processing costs depend on the cuts you select, averaging $0.85 to $1.25 per pound of hanging weight. Our pigs typically average 275 lbs, though weights can swing about 50 lbs either direction.

This is a 10-month investment that results in nutrient-dense, flavorful pork raised with care and transparency – by you, with our guidance every step of the way.
Why Join the Piggy Program?
Choosing the Piggy Program means more than just getting clean meat for you and your family. It’s about:
- Affordable, clean pork: You can raise your own quality pork without needing your own land or experience.
- Hands-on training: Gain valuable skills in pig care and regenerative farming practices that you can carry forward.
- Community & connection: Build relationships with other PFS Members who share your values of health, faith, and stewardship.
- Low-stress, on-site harvest: Our partnership with Northern Path Meatworks ensures a respectful, God-honoring process that benefits the animal and the final product.

Our pigs come from heritage crossbreeds, Mulefoot and Mangalitsa, prized for their gourmet flavor, beautiful marbling, and high nutrient density. They are forest-raised, fed exclusively non-GMO feed, and cared for using orthomolecular methods – no antibiotic, vaccines, or pharmaceuticals ever. If you’re searching for a trustworthy local pork farm to raise your own clean meat, the Piggy Program is your solution.
